Aerial Work Under the PPL

The air navigation order states….

“(2) The holder(of a PPL(A)) may not:

(a) fly such an aeroplane for the purpose of commercial air transport, public transport or aerial work except in accordance with paragraph (3);

BUT Paragraph 3 shows that… 3.(b) The holder may fly such an aeroplane for the purpose of aerial work which consists of:

(i) towing a glider in flight; or

(ii) a flight for the purpose of dropping of persons by parachute,”

Cost Sharing

Cost sharing with passengers is allowed, provided the pilot pays their proportion e.g. a pilot carrying two passengers may pay one third of the costs and take contributions for the other two-thirds from the two passengers
