The group was founded by former members of Cambridge based RAF 22 Reserve Flying School in 1953. Today the group operates two de Havilland DH82a Tiger Moth aircraft throughout the year at Marshall Airport, Cambridge.
We are one of the few groups to offer ab initio training on Tiger Moths. We offer conversion training from other aircraft types. Once qualified on the Tiger Moth, members can progress to learning aerobatics and formation flying. Using a modern Fuji FA-200 we can also offer night and instrument flight training.
The Tiger Moth is a perfect training aircraft: it is easy to fly and forgiving of pilot mistakes, yet at the same time to get the best from the aircraft you have to fly smoothly and accurately, which will help you fly other aircraft better too!
Alongside pilots (as "flying members") the group welcomes those who want to be involved as passengers, ground crew or just socially (as "associate members").
